ABOUT

In collaboration with Short Brothers Aviation Heritage, Rochester Cathedral’s Pioneers of Flight: Made in Medway exhibition successfully transformed the Crypt into an immersive storytelling environment that honoured both industrial heritage and community creativity.

PROJECT

The design concept was informed by the atmosphere of 1930s–40s engineering and archival documentation, expressed through a “blueprint” and “aged paper” aesthetic. This approach evoked the tactile quality of original workshop drawings, flight manuals, and technical archives from the Short Brothers era.
